Floyd’s Ale House Menu

Sorry, We are updating this restaurant menu details.

The service was awful, we waited for 15-20 minutes to get another drink. We preferred the cookie skillet and it came out soupy. Definitely would not come back here. The other reviews are pretty spot on.

First time I went to Floyd's, I had such a disappointing dining experience that I had vowed that I would never step foot back in that place. The food was mediocre. Our server barely came to our table. Which I didn't understand because the place was dead. But due to the persuasion of my boyfriend who is local to the area, we decided to give Floyd's another chance. And boy am I glad we did. It was as if the place changed owners, chefs, and servers. A complete turn around. We have since been back a few more times. Mainly for the nachos. I can't rave enough about the nachos. Absolutely delicious, and they are piled high. Our server the last few times was super friendly and attentive. We are so happy things have changed for the better at Floyd's since it really has the potential to be a hot spot.

Let me start with the positive aspects of this place. The outside patio area is great! New Lenox has very few places that have outside seating, so this is a welcome addition. They have a great beer selection too. So if you want to go sit outside on a summer night and enjoy a craft beer, this is your place. However, my two main complaints which yields a two star rating is the service and the food. We ordered a pizza to share with our beers and it was probably some of the worst food I've ever had. The pizza was so bland! It literally had no seasoning! Ketchup on cardboard. We had to douse it with salt to even choke it down. Not even close to anything that would resemble good food. My second complaint was the service. While the waiter was semi-friendly, our service was super slow and everyone seemed to be wandering around without a clue. Very disorganized. Although I am unlikely to return for the food, it wouldn't be a bad place to stop in for a drink.

We were actually headed out to dinner at another place when Floyd's caught our eye and we thought we'd try it...and we are SO glad we did!!! The beer list was awesome! That night, I just didn't feel like looking through it all, so I asked my server for a suggestion and told him what I liked, and he nailed it! My friends who were with me were less adventurous and took a few minutes to fully digest the beer menu and they were not disappointed either. Our server had no issue with us taking our time to make a decision. For dinner, I got the shrimp po'boy, but asked that it not be a sandwich. They were more than willing to accommodate, but better yet, the plating was still wonderful, and still better, the food was delicious! The shrimp were plump and flavorful...yum! The other dishes we got were the cajun pasta (also delicious) and the guacamole bacon burger (perfectly cooked, creamy guac, and crisp bacon). After dinner none of us wanted another whole beer, but we still wanted to sample some of the interesting brews on the list, so we asked if there were 4 oz. varieties to try. Our server advised us to make our own flight of four which was the perfect cap to our evening! Our server was friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating. So to sum it up...delicious food, unique craft beer, and great service!

The beer selection was nice. I have been to Floyd's Ale House twice now and each time they have been out of some of the beers on the menu. Food is average. The service was great both times I went. I would go back.

Visited for an early dinner on a Sunday. It wasn't busy at all, there were maybe 10 other people in the place. Prompt service, great beer list, decent food and reasonable prices. I had lobster ravioli which might have been in a microwave at some point but was edible, and my wife loved the chicken parm. The menu seems a little scattered, and I think if you try to cover too many styles of cuisine, the quality of everything will suffer. Beautiful place with lots of potential, but I think the menu needs some tweaking.

My wife and I stopped in on a Thursday evening about 7:00, I thought some one yelled fire !!! there was no one there.....10 -12 people for the entire hour and a half we were there. We sat at the bar.....our server was a bit over anxious to tell us all of the beer and food specials and ignorantly interrupted our conversation before we even sat down, but after I corrected that situation she was very nice and attentive. We were the only couple at the bar for over an hour until a local showed up to have his night cap. We tried the chicken taco appetizers on special and the chicken nachos also a special. The tacos were very good, chicken had a great smokey flavor and they were served hot. The nachos could have as good if the chips weren't dripping in grease....a turn off. We sampled several of the beers they had on special that night, couldn't beat the price for a good craft beer. One of my biggest pet peaves are the employees eating their dinner behind the bar discussing their personal lives and trying to get YOU involved in their conversation. This place has great potential...they need some one there who knows the craft beer scene and how to draw a crowd. A tune up of your menu would be a great start ...if your going to do this.....do it right and do it perfect or lock the doors. FLOYD'S LISTEN TO ME ....YOU NEED TO GET A MANAGER WHO KNOWS BEER.....NOT YOUR FRIEND......HE KNOWS NOTHING ABOUT BEER......HE IS A CONTRACTOR NOT A CERTIFIED ALE CONNER OR A CICERONE.......DO YOURSELF A FAVOR IF YOU WANT TO STAY IN BUSINESS......YOU HAVE TO CATER TO YOUR CLIENTS NOT YOUR FRIENDS WHO NEED A JOB....... Would I go back ?? Yes, for the beer not the food or the sometime unprofessional staff or manager. The reason I would go back is we, as did our friends have had not so good experiances at TRIBES. The owner is a pompus arrogant person who has no people skills and is a total douche bag....end of story.....

3rd time here and they really stepped it up a notch. Craft beer selection is awesome...they expanded their selection since they opened! The nachos were phenomenal. Totally glad I gave it another shot. 3rd times a charm.

Will someone please put this place out of it's misery so a REAL restaurant can take it's place? Service is just plain BAD and the food is so so at best. There does not appear to be any Management in place which is a shame that lack of Leadership / Management is causing this to business to fail, and fail quickly.

First, the good. Earlier this summer, some friends and I stopped here after a concert for a couple of drinks and some appetizers. We sat at the bar; the bartenders were really friendly and knowledgeable. I'm not a huge craft beer aficionado, but I enjoy a good hard cider. They had a great strawberry one on tap. The bartender recommended the nachos and the quesadillas, so we got those. Both were really good. We had a good experience and decided we had to try it again sometime. Tonight my husband and I decided to go there for dinner. It was a whole different experience. There was a band playing outside and there was a pretty good crowd out there for 6:30 on a Friday. We sat inside, where maybe 10 other tables were taken. There were only two waitresses servicing ALL the tables, indoors and outdoors. The service was very slow and the waitress was clearly stressed and rushed. I got my strawberry cider again, and it was as good as I remembered. The warm pretzel bread brought to our table was good as well. However, the food we had for dinner was mediocre at best. We ordered the pot roast fries as an appetizer. The "pot roast" seemed to be shredded Italian beef - dry, and not the taste you would expect from a pot roast. The undercooked fries were then topped with a run-of-the-mill cheddar cheese sauce. I was expecting something more like true disco fries, the kind you find at Houlihan's. They were edible but not great, on the up side they did give you a big portion. My husband had the lobster ravioli. He said it was OK, but for the price ($16.00) he could have gotten better, handmade ones at an Italian restaurant. These were obviously the frozen kind. Again, not bad, but pricey for frozen ravioli. I decided to try the buffalo wings. Big mistake. First of all, they weren't separated - they serve the entire wing, tip and all. Very difficult to eat that way, since it's shaped like a "Z". Just really weird. The skin was rubbery, not fried or oven crisped. It didn't help that they were no longer hot by the time I got them. I'm 99% sure the sauce was just straight Louisiana Hot Sauce, not true buffalo sauce. They were edible, but at $9 for 5 wings, I would've been better off at Buffalo Wild Wings. All in all we spent $50, and I feel like we could've gotten a much more quality meal for that price at countless other places in the area. Bottom line: It's pricey for food that is only meh, so I wouldn't recommend going there for an actual meal. However, if you're looking for a couple of drinks and late night munchies, definitely try some of their unusual beers/ciders and have the nachos and quesadillas. Expect good service if you're sitting at the bar, but plan on waiting for your drinks and food quite awhile otherwise. Unfortunately I really don't think this place is going to make it too long.

Short review, just plain average. If you want to read on for the long review, well here goes. My wife, son and I all headed out for a weekday lunch. We had a couple of coupons for the newer Floyds restaurant. It still looks nice inside, almost the same as the last restaurant, Charlie Horse that closed here a little while back. We start by ordering our usual soda drinks. They each cost us $2.75 a piece. My wife ordered the Ribeye Sandwich at $13 dollars with the Sweet Potato Fries for $1 dollar extra even though the menu did say you could swap out for different items. My wife thought the sandwich was just okay, but she did say a few times there were way too many grilled onions on her sandwich. She did like the sweet potato fried though. She even thought she had ordered the exact same meal before at the previous restaurant, Charlie Horse. My son ordered the Bourbon Chicken, basically chicken fingers with fries for $10 dollars. He thought the fries were good but thought the chicken fingers had a strange taste to them. The batter was light on the chicken but it carried that strange taste through his meal. Finally I ordered a set of appetizers, as I usually like to sample a variety of items. I ordered the Cheese Croquets for $8 dollars. They were four huge balls of multi flavored cheeses that ended up being greasy and heavy on my old tummy. I also ordered the Trio of Tacos for $8 dollars. I received three tacos, one fish, one beef and one chicken, all in hard shells. The fish was bland, the chicken a little less bland and finally the beef just right. I also ordered the Mini Sampler for $11 dollars. I received four mini burgers, sliders, one straight burger, one guac burger, one pulled pork burger and finally one shredded beef burger. They were all very average, nothing truly outstanding burger wise. My wife even said everyone seems to have these now a days, and the Floyd minis were nothing special. Finally I ordered, oh yes I did, a side of the Mac-n-Cheese for $3 dollars. This was piping hot. No one cared for the little crunchy pieces on top but the mac-n-cheese wasn't bad. I assume the crunchy part was breading or something and not Captain Crunch as it seemed to taste. So finally our server was Angela, a friendly young lady. We tried using our free appetizer coupon since we had two entrees but were not told until the end of our meal we could not. For some reason our items were not considered entrees. I think it had to do with the apps costing us over $8 dollars and that would have been a good savings. Because she only let us use the 10% off coupon which ended up being $5.95 off. Our total bill came to $58.09 with tax included. So will we head back to Floyds or even recommend it? It is a strong three star, average review at best. And I ended up just tossing out the other coupon we could not use, so my guess is we won't be heading back anytime soon.

Definitely not impressed. The only reason Floyd's gets two stars is because of the outdoor seating available and the fact that they have craft beer. The craft beer selection, however, does need some work in my opinion. Also, the beer menu could be improved by adding descriptions of the beers listed. Unfortunately, good beer and outdoor seating isn't enough to warrant a favorable review. Both the food and the service were subpar. Our server, while friendly, didn't seem to time the meal very well. To be fair, though, it's probably more so the kitchen's fault. Regardless, our service was rushed and, although I'd take rushed service over slow service any day, rushed service tends to make for a negative experience. Our salads, for instance, were brought seconds after our appetizer. Then, moments later, our meals arrived. I was surprised to see our server trying to put my steak down on top of my salad while asking if she could take my plate. I don't think I'd taken more than one bite at that point. That's restaurant 101 in my opinion and, at the prices being charged, shouldn't be something customers have to contend with. I'm afraid there isn't much I can say that would reflect positively on the food. The cheese croquets were good and that's about it. My wife's burger, while not bad, wasn't great. For $13, it should be great. I've got a place in mind right now that serves a $16 burger and I've never given that price a second thought because they're always phenomenal and worth the price. Floyd's aren't. My son's mac and cheese was not very good and I don't blame him for not eating it. My other son had pizza, but I didn't try it so I can't comment. I ordered a medium-rare ribeye and it may well have been the worst steak I've had in a restaurant. Pale, grainy, no juice and extremely salty. I've never encountered a steak quite like that. It wasn't overcooked; something just wasn't right with it and you can't hide a bad cut of meat behind salt. I didn't finish it. In hind sight I should of complained but I'm ashamed to say that I didn't The corn and the garlic mashed potatoes that came with it were good, however, and the salads were very good also. Very fresh produce and excellent caesar dressing. There are some restaurants that, while expensive, provide an overall experience that one feels is worth the price. This is not one of those.

Very unimpressed. Looks very nice from the outside, but looks are quite deceiving. Food was of poor quality and my drink was not made right. even after the waitress told me they have made these drinks before I tried to send it back, but they said it could not be taken off my bill. Our waitress's words: "yeah, this is the first time we've made this drink before..." This place was not what I expected it to be. My husband and I both ordered a steak. He ordered a "loaded baked potato" which consisted of melted cheese a a few bacon bits. Needless to say, we won't be coming back here anytime soon.

I rounded up. Servers and hosts were all very nice. Good beer selection (although lots of misspellings on beer and regular menu, odd). Went with what was supposed to be an upscale grilled cheese. Menu said it was on a fancy french bread...it was Texas toast let's be real. It was 9 dollars! So that was outrageous, but my husband had pork chops and they were more reasonably priced. Our bruschetta appetizer was pretty good. The space is great, I hope the food improves, it had everything else going for it.

All right, a real 50 tap pub in my back yard,..... not. We ordered the special of the day, a Firestone Walker DDBA. This is double barrel aged 12% barley wine, dark brown in color with a copper colored head. The server did not know what it was or that it was the special for the day. Instead, we were served a pale beer in a pint glass that tasted like a golden ale at maybe 5%. We explained this is not the correct beer and asked him to get the right one. He brought another pint, just like the first. I went to see the bartender because the servers English was not clear. After explaining this was not a barley wine the bartender said they have been serving this all day with no complaint. (implying I don't know what I am talking about) After a brief exchange, it was clear he had no idea that the pale colored beer he just poured was not a barley wine. The people who work there are friendly and the service was good. The food was average but priced high. The main course starts at $9 for a grilled cheese, $13 for a guacamole bacon burger and goes up from there. The beer we did drink was fresh and the did not suffer from beer line issues. This is called an "Ale House" so my expectations are they understand beer. The rating was rounded up to get to only two stars because the server and bartender were clueless when it comes to beer and the customer is playing roulette with the taps. When a bartender does not know the difference between a double barley wine and a pale ale it is just plan inexcusable. The appropriate name may be "Floyd's Ail House". I am being critical because this establishment has good potential, but does not appear to be managed. It would be great to have an array of good taps and decent food close to home. I am hoping this feedback is a wake-up call to the owners. I'll try again in a couple of months. In the mean time, I'll travel 3 miles up the road to Tribes.

Terrible. Came with a party of 10 expecting to stay for a game and spend a lot of money. The first 5 beers we ordered they didn't have and the waiter never came back to get another order. Long story short we stayed for about 20 minutes got 1 beer between 10 people ended up leaving to go to another bar. Don't waste your time.

We visited Floyd's for an early dinner on New Year's Eve. When called ahead for a reservation as we were unsure how busy it would be. When we arrived I asked if we could be seated at one of the tall tables in the bar area ( there was no one at the tables on the one side). The young hostess told me no. They side of the bar area was closed. She then seated us (party of4) at the back table by the kitchen where my constant view was the kitchen (no doors to block it). After we received our menus I went the the restroom this was maybe 5 minutes after we were seated. I saw that at two of the tall tables in the bar ( where I asked to be seated) people were now sitting. It took about 20 min to get our first drink and another 20 to have our orders taken. The food was ok but the rest was really poor. I have read other reviews where the management responds to the review with the message that they are working on these issues. I have to say you have a long way to go. There are so many choices close by. I wold not waste my time or money here.

I agree with some of the others. Though this place could be a great restaurant because there is not much to choose from living in New Lenox. I went to Floyd's more than a few times. The better experiences I had was when my friends and I just sat at the bar and ordered drinks, except for the bar outside when the bartender had to constantly run to the main bar for drinks. The service staff is terrible. Our waitress looked like she just rolled out of bed and went to work. Then she was crying that she was playing waitress and bartender at the same time. She didn't even ask if we wanted drinks and just went right to the food menu. There was only 2 tables in the whole restaurant and we were one of them. My wife felt her food was a bit under cooked and when I mentioned it to the waitress, she had a look on her face like , Oh Brother! She brought something else and I tipped her very well for her trouble. Not even a Thank You. We even passed her on the way out and didn't say a word. Nice manners! I can see why this place is dying out. Also, the place can use a better cleaning. Seriously, wipe down the chairs and the high chairs for kids. The hostess asked if she needed us for her to wipe down the high chair for our daughter. Really?? Just grab a rag and do it! The restaurant is dead and you can't go around and wipe stuff down? I don't know about the other chairs in the restaurant, but the one I was in was really wobbly. Tighten down the screws instead of standing in the corner drinking coffee. And whoever is cleaning the floors, tell them to ease up on the soap. I felt like I was ice skating walking around the restaurant. The owner of this place needs to restructure on who's the manager and has the skills to run the place. Get rid of the staff and bring in new people and train them right.

This could be such a great space. The outdoor patio is one of the best around. Sadly, the current incarnation isn't going to be here long, I think. They're not good as a restaurant and they're not good as a craft beer destination. Tried this once for drinks and appetizers with friends. Service was slow, but kind. Calamari and pot roast fries were both average. First two attempts at beer were out, so I went with a Cherry Bomb. It was interesting, but arrived headless 15 minutes after ordering - a sure sign that it sat around for a bit before someone got around to delivering it to our table. And one of our party ordered a Mojito, which was the single worst Mojito ever inflicted on mankind. But, the weather was nice and the company was good, and they'd only been open a few weeks, so all in all that trip was a 3.5 Tonight, we tried dinner for two and bleh. Walking up to the door, we noticed empty beer bottles and crushed beer cans in the landscape beds from the night before. This was the first clue that Floyd's is sorely lacking in management paying any attention to details. In case Floyd's reads Yelp, here's some Yelp Help: You're not a big enough space for 3 hosts/hostesses. Hire more waiters or kitchen staff. If you want to market yourself as a craft beer spot, have those beers in stock/on tap. Have staff who know what is available/not available. Educate staff on the beers you carry; if that's not possible, have better descriptions of the beers on your menu. If you offer a beer flight, have that on the menu, or tell the wait staff to inform customers of this fact before they order. Hire waitstaff, bartenders and assistants who know how to do their job, and hire enough of them to properly do that job. Waiting time for beverages is ridiculous. Our waitress this evening, while friendly, was clueless, attempting to take my order while I was standing next to our table having just returned from the ladies room. Sometimes, waitstaff would appear on the patio and play that fabulous "Is this your food?" game with all the tables. There's no excuse for that; it's another management fail. The menu doesn't appear to know what it wants to be, which is always a bad sign. The hubs ordered something claiming to be a Reuben, and the corned beef was: lunch meat. LUNCH MEAT. With the plethora of awesome Irish restaurants (and people) in the south suburbs, if you're selling corned beef, it better be real. 2.5 hours later, we'd each had one beverage, because no one asked us if we wanted another until we were well finished eating, because no one checked on us after our food was delivered. Not once. After we were done, we waited 20 minutes for someone to show up and ask if we wanted a check. That check could have easily been another $12-$24, if only someone had thought to ask us if we'd like to try something else to drink. Floyd's disorganized and slow service is costing the restaurant in average table revenue. Also, I'm not sure what the issue was, but it sounded like the couple behind us got their meal comped due to poor service or something else gone wrong. These are all clues of impending failure. Get it together, Floyd's. New Lenox needs a nice spot that does it right.

Don't waste your time or money! Worst steak sandwich I've ever had from a restaurant. Fries were awful. The Jameson and Ginger was weak. Service was horrible.

Not impressed. Food was okay but nothing special. Our waiter was very friendly and sociable, but he messed up twice with our order. There were two people sitting at the table next to us and I noticed that their waiter messed up their order, too. I know the place is new and everything, but they should train their staff better before opening the restaurant to the public. Maybe I'll try going back again in a few months, but right now, they need to get their act together or they are going to lose a lot of business.

Food is not very good for the price.Beer is way over priced.staff is good but we won't be coming back anytime soon unless the price goes down or food quality goes way up.I will say the atmosphere is nice and it has potential to be a great place to go but some key things need to change.

There is little reason to go here with so many other choices in the area. This place has so much potential but appears to be owned or managed (or both) by clowns. I mean with the accessibility of services like Yelp you would think they would read the reviews and start to make changes before the ship sinks but after several visits over the last year the service and food has not improved to the point I can say they are consistently good. I will not go back.

I went to see a friend's band play here and was very disappointed. Our server was rude and seemed inconvenienced by our large party. She would not split the check in any way for us. In addition, the server and 1 other employee seemed outright annoyed by the kids in our party who were not misbehaving at all. The band was great. The venue was not and there is no chance of me visiting this place again.

My wife and I have been there a few times and we like it. Haven't had the service problems that others have mentioned. The food was vood and the price was average. Good selection of beers including gluten free which my wife has to have due to allergies. The outside deck and live music is a nice touch. We like floyds a lot!

This section of Route 30 is LOADED with places like this so there's real competition to stand out. I found the service fantastic and friendly. The manager (?) working behind the bar (Bryant) is really knowledgeable and was just great helping with drink and menu suggestions. Can't say enough good things about him. Awesome selection of taps that pretty much anybody would be happy with. Not so heavy handed with the DIPAs and such like others in the area. The only negatives I can think of are that it's a little wonky getting in the parking lot if coming from the west. You have to go past it and turn at the street then go through the bank lot. Same deal if leaving and going east. The prices are also a dollar or two higher for the menu items compared to the other places just down the road but I think the level of service is worth it. We'll keep going back unless/until the service falters but I hope it doesn't.

We enjoyed the pot roast fries for an appetizer, they were really good, and I'm not even a pot roast lover. My husband had a really nice burger. I ordered the soup and a dinner salad because I was too full after the fries. The restaurant is really very nicely laid out. The bar is huge with tv's all around. The outdoor patio is a great place to eat during the nice weather. The best part of dinner was our server, Patrick. He was helpful, polite, and very accommodating. I would certainly go back again!

I had never heard of Floyd's until Friday night, and seeing as I don't live anywhere near New Lenox, that's not surprising. A friend from college had her birthday party here after original plans fell through. I will admit, I checked the Yelp ratings before heading south, and was SCARED. C'mon yelp, it's really not that bad! We were a party of 7 seated on the patio. Plusses: + Service! Our server was fantastic, and very friendly! + Drinks. Moscow Mule served in copper mug. That's always a plus. +Salmon dish. Nicely cooked without being dry. Comes with asparagus and couscous, but I subbed a sweet potato for the couscous, as it's just not my bag. Substitutions? No problem. Also served with a side-salad. Minuses: - Sea scallop appetizer. Is a salad, but you wouldn't know that by the menu. Scallops were nicely seared, but undercooked in the middle. The flavors were good, but no one should undercook a scallop, 'm I right, Gordon Ramsay? - Chips & guac. The chips were SUPER greasy (like, hadn't been drained after coming out of the fryer) and the portion of guac was ridiculously small for the amount of chips given. So, that's 3 positives and 2 negatives, which to me equals a solid 3 star place. I'd give them another shot if I was in the area, I just don't know when that will be!

I really expected more of this place. I have been to Floyds on multiple occasions and always have the same response. Meh..not much going on. The menu seems a bit bland and I only ate the tacos which were....well..bland. Especially after what seemed to be an eternity for our order to arrive. The service leaves little to be desired. Very pleasant and cheery individuals but that cannot make up for their lack of beer knowledge. Come on...it's a beer joint isn't it? I like places where you can chat a bit with the bartenders about craft beer. The best thing about this place is the patio but the experience doesn't get any better out there. Place is simply MEH. I can't seem self going back again. I think I have given it enough time and trips to earn my on going patronage, however Floyd's fails to do that.

Ugh. Disgusting. Went for lunch with my girlfriend this afternoon. She ordered a Caesar Salad, which was romaine lettuce, chicken, and a few croutons...something that looking like it came out of a Fresh Express bag. I had the chopped salad. It was disgusting. Spring Mix chopped up to nothing with a heavy "Lemon Basil" dressing that was thick, creamy, and tasted like mayonaise with blue cheese. I will NOT be back.

Typical bar and grill type place. Nothing special. Service on our visit was lackluster - not sure if this was just our server or what. The place seemed adequately staffed. Our waiter just didn't check up on us from between when we placed our order until we were almost done eating (he did not participate in serving the food). The food selection and quality was average.

I was hesitant about eating here based on the fact that it only had 3 stars but upon reading the reviews, I realized the complaints were typical "I want my waiter to be omnipresent and anticipate my needs before I have them" nonsense. Thank god I didn't listen to that nonsense. Food was incredible-bourbon chicken starter, seafood mac & cheese, plus my boyfriend got the guacamole bacon burger which he loved too. I had the Sweetwater 420 extra pale ale after they let me try a few beers on tap that piqued my interest, and my boyfriend had a Blue Moon. Our waitress was attentive without being overbearing, kind, timely, and genial. Bartender was nice as well. We'll eat here again when we head to New Lenox for an IMAX movie.

Had drinks and apps on the patio. Service was ok but our girl was so nice, very friendly so that means a lot . I had a martini that was great and my buddie wanted a craft beer made in Michigan and the server knew which one it was just by his description! We had the coconut shrimp and chicken nachos. Shrimp were good but the nachos were fantastic . Nothing like sitting out on the patio in nice weather having a cocktail and some food . Thumbs up!!!

In all fairness, I felt the need to give this place a better review since I have been back a few times without a bad experience. Be warned: If you are looking to have some drinks, and don't want to sit with an empty glass for an extensive period of time, sit at the bar. I've had some pretty decent meals here that I would order again. Cheese croquets are a solid appetizer Penne Alla Panna was great for the money on half price pasta wednesdays (not sure if that deal is current) I had the BBQ chicken pizza while hiding at the bar while my mother in law was over. The pizza was a nice snack while downing some beers! The bartender during my last visit knew every beer being served. He even suggested a few and offered samples, which I couldn't refuse. I'll keep the place in mind, hoping it gets better.

My daughter and husband both had pizza and it was pretty good. I'm glad I asked for my daughter's to come out first because the food took pretty long. I had a reuben and it was good, but there were red peppers? Or pimentos on it that I didn't really like. All in all it was just okay. They have a lot more on the menu that sounded good, so I'd go back.

Service was great, not sure what others are talking about. Our waitress was attentive, kind and on top of everything. The food was amazing We had the nachos!! I totally recommend Then I had the homemade cream of chicken soup and he had a very fresh salad. I had the filet (steak) and he had the rib eye. Both were tender and very tasty. We will be back- excellent place

Went here with my boyfriend. They had a lot of good drink specials. We went with the Mexican mule, strong but very good! Scallopa appetizer were yummy but smaller than I expected for the price. I had the shrimp po boy which was delicious! Boyfriend had the burger with onion ring on top. He said was a little dry but still good. Great service!

So, my wife and I gave Floyd's a third try today. So, I have a bit of hope for old Floyd's! We arrived at noon with about thirty other people being seated at the same time. We were served promptly and they actually had BOTH BEERS that we ordered!!! Off to a great start! The service was a bit crummy, my wife had to order her glass of water from the waitress three times and then just asked the busboy who immediately got her a water. The beer selection is great, both the Tremens and The Double Wide IPA were cold and tasty! A Bruchetta was fresh and tasty, but a little forgettable. B- Pesto and Goat cheese pizza was ok, Tons of goat cheese, so you better be damn sure you like it!! B Steak Quesadillas were the prize of the meal. Four tortillas with cheese and A TON of Steak . A I was forced to give another star after today! Well Played Floyd!!!

I hate to do it because I really wanted this place to succeed, but I'm going to have to downgrade Floyd's Alehouse to two stars. We've been here several times now, and the things I was hoping would improve never did. The beer list is decent, but half of the time they're out of the ones we want. The food is OK, but overpriced for what you get. On our most recent visit, we got the same waitress that served us our first time here, and she still had that "deer-in-the-headlights" look about her and the service to match. It's not even a very good place to watch sports because they only have a few TVs. It's like they want to be both an alehouse and a fine dining restaurant but can't make up their minds, so they give only a half-hearted effort at both. The outdoor patio is still very nice during good weather, and that's probably Floyd's main asset right now. With Bulldog Alehouse now open down the street in Bluestone Commons and the always-excellent Tribes Alehouse in Mokena, I doubt if we'll be going back to Floyd's anytime soon. It's a shame, because they're within walking distance of our house. But when it comes to beer places, good atmosphere, service and prices will outweigh convenience every time.

Disorganized. Table of 4, we ordered 2 appetizers and received the platters but no plates.. Complete experience took more than 2 hours from start to finish. That's after the acceptable wait time of 20 minutes for a table. Decent food. Place thinks it's cooler than it is.

So after our daughter went for lunch and had a great experience we decided to try it again. This time I joined out of town friends for drinks. We had a great time and decided to order flights of beer. The section was decent and the price was great. We asked for the fire outside to be lit as it was breezy and a bit chilly. Within a minute, no joke, a buss boy was on it. The patio tables were almost full of diners and the inside had a decent amount at the high tops. This was a week night so staff was able to joke around and recommend tastings. I'm glad to see the turn around and will go back for dinner.

Anyone thinking about trying this place, you should. I was quite unsure about doing so because of some of the reviews on this site but decided to make my own decision. Boy, is glad I did so. Our waitress, Taylor, was great! She was attentive, patient, friendly and knowledgeable. I had the salmon, it was good. Others in my party had the garlic chicken and a burger, which were both good as well. The calamari was outstanding and I tried a grapefruit based beer which was really different and refreshing- would definitely come back! Maybe it's new management or new staff but even if you were disappointed in the past, it's worth trying it again.

First time there won't rush to go back. Food was just ok wife had burger I had the sea food mac and cheese. Really it tasted like Kraft Mac and cheese with shrimp not real special. Waitress was not very skilled and wasn't real attentive. All in all we will pass on this place next time.

A rather large group of us just had a truly pleasant experience and excellent food at Floyds Ale House in New Lenox. Service was prompt, our meals were delicious, and desserts were served with panache. I can sincerely say that I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this restaurant, and plan to come again.

Only reason we stopped here was because "Tribes" down the street had an hour wait (there's a reason for that!) 3x's in the past 9 mos. at this place, and like baseball, its 3 strikes and your out! Service is terrible! (All 3 times!) At some point you can't blame the staff anymore, they are only as good as the training and care they are given! Food is mediocre at best, nothing exciting, just a step above fast food! Beer is the best thing they got going if they are not out of what you are looking for! Next time I will wait an hour and get my money's worth! Should have trusted fellow "yelpers" and avoided the place

Went to Floyd's for a BDay lunch on a Sunday. Drinks: The beer selection is really solid. I live downtown and Floyd's has a couple selections you'd be hard pressed to find at local craft beer bars. The bartender helped a couple people in my family who aren't usually sure what to order. My girlfriend seemed to like the Bloody Mary. A great selection of $4 featured beers as well, that's cheap to me. Food: I had the Italian Beef & Giardiniera pizza and it was very good. Enough for 2 people. My girlfriend had some sort of Chicken and liked it. The salads looked big. Service: Yes we went at a very uncrowded hour but the service seemed to be top notch. Our waitress was always available for drink orders and made sure our group of ten's food orders were correct. All requests and substitutions were met without issue. I'd say from my experience Floyd's is a very solid 4/4.5 type place. It's a good local place to get beer and food. Pretty good bar setup for games and such too. Also looked to have a nice outdoor space for when it's warmer.

I wanted to update this review because I decided, at the persistent requests of my daughter, to give this restaurant one more shot. You see, I really want to like this place. It is close by, clean and has a good beer menu. Everything that makes me give a competitor down the street 5 stars, with the exception of one item - service. And that is why I am writing this update. We stopped in for an early dinner the other day. The place was nearly empty, but it was about 3PM on a Friday, so that was to be expected. The food was as good as my last review and the beer was top notch. I am not going to spend a lot more time on that. My main gripe before was service. However, this time, we were served by Jessica. Let me tell you this. People would not eat anywhere else if the staff here took a lead from her. Our service was prompt. She offered insight into not only specials, but any menu item we were interested in. She was warm, personable and attentive to all our needs. How attentive? She noticed a poorly washed glass that was served to my wife that we didn't even catch. There was a lipstick print on it and she noticed my wife wasn't wearing any. Instead of avoiding the conversation and potential issue, which is what 99.9 percent of all other servers anywhere would have done, she pointed it out, apologized and immediately corrected the issue. Very impressive. But it got better. Beyond offering stellar service throughout the meal, she conversed with us and really made us feel like a "Regular" around the place. I cannot emphasize enough how important it is to know your server is listening to your wants and acting genuinely interested in your conversation. That is the primary behavior that gets customers to become "Regulars". So here is the deal - I upgraded the review to 3 stars from one. 2 of 4 times I have been here I have received really good treatment. The other two times were plain awful. Management has stated that they are working to improve the customer service aspect and based upon this experience I have to believe this to be true. My overall recommendation is to go to this place and order the Chicken Parmesan - it is insanely good and huge (Good item to share). Beware that you might hit a service issue, but my hope is that those chances are being remediated. I will continue to upgrade this place's ratings as I experience consistently superior service. And yes, I will be back soon.

Having an infant it's hard to get out. When I go out I try to make up for lost time. First time here and yes I saw some bad reviews, but I am one to give anything a try once. I had a great time from the moment I walked in. My waitress Terri was one of the most energenic I have seen in years. Food was excellent. The chili was perfect. After a beer flight I was hooked. I am excited to come back!!!

Ahhh it's a hit or miss with this place. Service can be horrible but then sometimes good when we get a new server. You never know. Food is good but portion is very small for the price. We Always give it another try and either it's great or not. All depends. Need bigger portions or cut your prices down :)

Had been putting off going here because of the reviews but finally said what the hell.. I was pleasantly surprised with how nice the whole experience was. From the second we walked in to the moment we left it was exceptional customer service. I got a guacamole burger and it was fantastic. My wife and I will certainly return.

We returned for our 3rd visit and dared to try the food again. We began searching for a beer to wash our food down with. I chose the the Stone Levitation Ale which was quite tasty. My wife chose the the Kona Pipeline Porter from Hawaii which she enjoyed. We ordered the pretzel and cheese dip appetizer. The cheese tasted just like Cheez Whiz but the pretzels were freshly made. I wouldn't order it again due to the Cheez Whiz quality of cheese. It seemed like a lower quality copycat version of Tribes Lager and Cheese. For my dinner I ordered the Black N' Blue Burger with fries. I wanted it cooked medium but it came medium well. The Burger was good but I would have liked lettuce, tomato and pickle which it didn't come with. The fries were much improved from the when they first opened. My wife ordered the Ale Battered Fish Sandwich which my wife said was great. The batter seemed airy and freshly made. I want to return in the summer to drink on the patio which is easily the best place to eat outside in New Lenox. Floyd's still have the best atmosphere in town inside and out but the food quality still needs improvement. The beer selection is good and clearly the best selection in New Lenox. Overall this place is below average. I never think to go here because I never walk away impressed with anything besides the atmosphere which Charlie Horse created. I will probably return a couple times in the summer for drinks but there is some stiff competition in a neighboring town that keeps pulling me away.

Went here on weeknight to celebrate a special occasion. My rating is very much an average based on why I'd want to go to Floyd's. My wife and I agreed that it would be a fantastic place to grab a few quality draft beers and an appetizer at the bar. As for dinner, we'll likely not be returning. The draft beer selection is respectable. There are quite a few awesome choices of which my personal highlights are the Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale and 312 Green Line. The prices are about what I'd expect for a decent draft beer ($5 - 6 per serving). For an appetizer, we got a huge plate of nachos. They were absolutely amazing, and by the time we finished we were wondering how we could ever continue on to our meal... Well, it wasn't as hard as we'd thought it would be. We both ordered sandwiches with fries off the menu at around $10 each. I added on sweet potato fries for a bit extra. The sandwiches were good. My fries left a lot to be desired because they were served plain. I'm used to getting sweet potato fries served with some sort of something to go with it. It's like they couldn't decide to go sweet or savory with them so they just served them straight out of the fryer with nothing on them at all. And, as for portion size... if we hadn't had the $9 plate of nachos we would have easily left still hungry. As for service, we weren't disappointed, but we weren't impressed either. We didn't see our waitress much even though the place wasn't very busy. She once asked to refill the beer I was enjoying, and then forgot to bring it to me. After about 15 minutes, she passed back by, realized she forgot the beer, and asked me if I still wanted it. Then, I still had to wait for her to get back with it. All in all, I received and ate half my meal before I could get a second beer. Floyd's: a good place for a beer and snack, but there are better places for a good hearty meal.

We were looking for a casual Friday night dinner in the area and decided to give Floyd's a try. The space is very open and allows for groups. There is a big bar in the middle and as time passed it filled up with Friday night patrons. The big stand out of our experience here was our waitress, she was outstanding (I *think* her name was Kelly)! When we arrived she immediately brought out our drinks and told us about the $5 cheese croquets, we decided to give them a try. While we were waiting she checked on us and made sure we had everything we needed. Once we ordered we had our app shortly thereafter and the croquets were very cheesy and indulgent, a nice Friday night treat. Not long after we had our entrees. I went with the bourbon BBQ tenders and a side salad. The portion was pretty large and the sauce was delicious! I ended up taking half home. Overall, Floyd's was a very comfortable environment, with good casual American food options and outstanding service. We will definitely be back!

I really want this please to do well, but three visits were all below average. It has a beautiful outdoor patio but the service is sketchy at best and the food is "meh". Good deserts but it always seems empty inside and takes forever to get even the simplest order.

We were all happy with our meal and the service. We had problems with this place when it first opened with not so great food so we were hesitant to come back. But we had great service and food was awesome. Chicken tacos were on special, bourbon chicken appetizer was awesome, and beer selection was extensive. We will be back!

My son in law and I came here today to escape the book club being held at at his house. We brought little Z with us, she's too young to be exposed to book club yet. We enjoyed our slider appetizer and even managed to slide them down while passing baby Z back and forth. Service was good and it being really uncrowded inside probably helped that. I had a steak sandwich with mac n cheese for my main meal. The steak sandwich was adequate but the Mac n Cheese was really a dud. I even let Zara taste a bit of the cheese and now I wish I hadn't, she deserved a better example for her introduction to comfort food. We were glad to miss the ladies at book club but not thrilled with our meal. It was OK but nothing to write home about. Certainly not enough to write a book about. Hope it improves and maybe becomes a best seller. OK, enough with the puns.

Floyd's could be the best place to go in New Lenox if they fix their biggest problem.....SERVICE. I was with a group of 8 on a snowy Saturday afternoon and there were only a couple other tables occupied. Our waitress was the worst, we had to ask for our drinks multiple times, we would place our order and she would disappear without putting our order in. We had to tell the bartender what we ordered and she would appear to deliver the drinks to the table. She kept talking about how sleepy she was and was very lethargic, very little personality and seemed bothered that we came in and interrupted her afternoon. This is not my first visit to Floyd's where I had bad service, there have been a few other times. The others in my party said the same. The only times we have good service is when we sit at the bar and have the bartenders wait on us. To the management- please hire new servers or train the ones you have. I want to love this place!

I gave this place three chances. After browsing the reviews, they probably didn't deserve a single chance. Regardless, here's my input on Floyd's -- in hope that someone else reads this and decides not to waste their valuable time/money on this place. I'll start with the one positive: the building they inherited is fantastic. Great setup, great bar & outdoor area. Beer selection is great, but it's hard not to be with that many taps. And that my friends is the end of the compliments. Food: MAJORLY overpriced. The cost might have been palatable if the food was good, but it's not. Between the members of my party we tried wings, cod, burgers, salads, and a couple other entrees. They all earned a 'meh' at best. So if they have mediocre food they make it up on the service end? Not even close. Consistently it was some of the worst service I've ever experienced. Extremely inattentive wait staff & bartenders. Sure, they were friendly, but that only goes so far. What do all these things have in common? Poor management. Any competent restaurant manager could make this place fulfill its promise. Instead, read the other reviews. You've heard less than glowing remarks about the owners. Here's my experience with the male owner and night manager: they have absolutely no business running a restaurant. Both are muscle-bound meatheads that seem to have little intelligence, charisma, and employee relation skills. The failings of this business lie at your feet. With this type of gross incompetence, Floyd's will not make it through the next year. Hopefully new owners could finally turn this property into something worthwhile. Until that happens, this mismanaged mess will continue circling the drain. Once again I reiterate, do not waste a single minute of your time or a single dollar on this place.

We have eaten at Floyd's twice now and have enjoyed the experience both times. The lobster/scallop mac and cheese is fabulous, and the catfish special was excellent. My husband enjoyed his steak, and it was cooked the way he ordered it (which often isn't the case). We were concerned because of the reviews of the service, but both times the service was excellent. Jessica was particularly personable and made us feel exceptionally welcome. I definitely recommend this place, and don't understand why it's been getting poor reviews.

Worst bar ever!!! First off the staff was less than welcoming then the drinks were watered down and let's end with the fact that they close at midnight and we were reminded of this several times rudely. Makes me realize why this place is empty all the time. They had a pretty decent crowd in the beer garden you'd think they'd actually like to make some money. We asked two different bartenders for shot ideas and both said "red headed sluts" I'm sorry is it 1992?? Just please pick up your game. Beautiful beer garden but at this point it's a waste of space.

Second trip here, better than last time and last time was great. Food and beer well above what I'm used to in the southwest burbs and on too of that, great for kids. Will be back soon. Been to Bulldog a couple times and while it's good, I put Floyd's above it without question.

Went here with my wife and son for a weekend lunch. It's a very nicely decorated place, and they clearly spent the money to make it look great. The food, not so much. We started with cheese croquets, which were not fully cooked. OK, we can look past that. My wife got grilled cheese to share with the little guy. Also not fully cooked. We had to send that one back to get finished. I got chicken wings and was not very impressed. We will not be back.

What piss poor service. I came here with a group of people. I explained to the server, Rebecca, that we needed separate checks. Yes, it sucks, I know it does, but with your ALOHA system, it's actually quite easy to do, especially when we let you know in advance that we needed separate checks. Instead of the Ok, No problem (with a slight annoyance, as I probably would have done), this girl immediately started telling us about how "she can't have everyone sitting away from the other people on the bill (p.s., we were ALL sitting next to our significant others), and it was going to be 3 times as much time to get our food, and how it was easier FOR HER to just keep everything on one check. WHY!? WHY WOULD THAT EVER HAPPEN!?!?!? I have been in this industry for a LONG time. There has NEVER been a place that I've worked at that can't split a GD check. 1 way, 10 ways, it shouldn't matter, ESPECIALLY when we let you know at the VERY beginning!!!!!!!!! ANYWAY. We got our first round of drinks (which, took a surprisingly long time). And wouldn't you know it, she served one of our guests with a wrong beer, another guest didn't get hers at all, until we pointed it out, other people didn't get their waters they had asked for until the meal was almost over... I at one point asked about a tap handle I saw, Temperance. By the way, in case whoever is reading this at the establishment sees this, THE TOP OF THE TEMPERANCE HANDLE IS A RED DIAMOND WITH A T IN IT. Not only did she fight me on it, but then the bartender came over and yelled at me. AND THEN she came back and told me that there was NO T in the damn taphandle. I'm sorry. Where I work, you NEVER argue with a patron. EVER. I manage a bar that has 60 craft beers on tap and over 200 in bottles and cans. I know my shit. I know the local breweries quite well. Anyway, after that, instead of trying something new that sounded FANTASTIC, I ended up having another of the same beer I had. Which is one of my favorites and still fantastic, I just wanted to try something new. Then she completely forgot my husbands beer (which happened twice the last time we were there) and acted like I was being unreasonable for reminding her. I'm sorry, but when you bring wrong beers and then forget them completely, I'm sorry, I get a bit perturbed. It made for an awkward evening between myself and the other guests because everyone was uncomfortable about the way she was singling me out and treating me. So she knew I was upset, but never sent a manager over (which I was hoping for), but all the waitstaff somehow kept walking by our table and shooting me dirty looks and snickering as they passed our table. Like I mentioned before, I've been in this business a LONG time, and when that happens, you know that she was talking trash to the other servers about me and my table. Again, no manager ever showed up. We get the bill, and she added 20% gratuity. Not only did it not say anything about gratuity on the check, or on the beer/food menu, but it was 20%!!! I almost fell off my chair (and I only had two beers so we know that wasn't the cause). I was so upset by the time we left, that it made for a rather upset car ride home (we live about 25-30 minutes away from this place). I asked for a managers business card on the way out, and wouldn't you know, they didn't have one. How many people are having the same issues that don't get resolved? I'm still fuming about this visit, especially because there were people in our group that we don't see that often. I guarantee that this will be the last time we go to this establishment, because it's not worth the lack of server and bartender beer knowledge, nor is it worth the feeling of anger after leaving. The only reason I'm giving this place 2 stars? I was the only one that enjoyed my food. If you're looking for a good ale house, go to tribes. Hell, go anywhere else.

Stopped here on a Monday night, despite the poor reviews and word of mouth I've heard from friends. I'm a big craft beer fan, so I wanted to see what they had to offer. Like many have said, the restaurant itself has plenty of seating, a large bar area, and a great outdoor patio. There were 50 beers listed as being on tap on the menu, and I counted 45 tap handles (I was sitting next to the bar). A variety of types on tap -- didn't seem to lean too heavily towards IPA's like Tribes Alehouse (full disclosure -- I'm a fan of Tribes). Beer selection is more tame, less "extremely hoppy/beer geek" if you will. Service was good. It was a nice night, and about half the customers were seated outside, so inside (where I was seated) was very sparsely populated. I asked the waitress what was good, and she proceeded to recommend half the menu. Not super helpful, but at least I knew to cross a few items off the list. The food came in a reasonable amount of time, maybe even a little on the fast side. I had the guacamole bacon burger, and my wife had the sausage pizza (which was NOT recommended by the waitress, BTW). The burger was fine -- nothing fabulous, and nothing terrible. My wife's pizza had very finely ground sausage covering it (which I like), and slices of mozzarella melted Neapolitan-style, with very little sauce. Sausage wasn't spicy, and overall it was a little bland. My fries were very plain, also nothing special. Both items & two drinks came to $36. Also, I wasn't paying much attention to the music until Taylor Swift came on. Really? Taylor Swift + craft beer? Not sure what audience they are going after. 15 year olds don't drink a lot of craft beer. Next up was some Lady Gaga -- again, not what you would expect from an "Ale House." Just seemed strange to me. But I digress... Overall, my review was "fine" and my wife said it was "adequate." I'd give 2.5 stars, but I'm rounding up cause I'm a swell guy. :-) I think it would be a fine place to go for a drink, and the patio is great, but if I wanted great food to pair with my craft beer, I'd go to Tribes Alehouse. Tribes has more of a "foodie" approach to pretty much all of the food they serve, and the food here seems like less of the main focus. I hope they will read some of this feedback and step it up a bit, because I'd love to see them succeed.

I don't understand the bad wrap this place is getting on Yelp. I've been here several times now, and each time it has been excellent. The beer selection is second to none, there is no better patio in the SW burbs in the summer time, and the food and service is excellent. In particular, the cheese croquets are frickin awesome. How weird is it that 3 Floyd's won't distrubute them beer because they have a similar name? 3-Floyd's have gotten so pretentious, get over yourselves. Even without 3-Floyd's, there are plenty of good brews. Revolution, Bell's, New Holland, Lagunitas etc. In conculsion, Floyd's is awesome, don't believe the crappy reviews.

I had a wonderful experience here on a weeknight. Seemed like no one was there because the parking lot is tucked away so you cannot see the cars from the rt. 30. We sat on the porch near the pond. It was beautiful as the moon came out and the patio lights came one. I had the beef sandwich and it was the best one I have ever had. That is saying a lot, I come from a family of beef sandwich snobs. We each had a delicious beer. The fries were not very good, no seasoning. The music was terrible, I feel like they should think that one over a bit more. I don't want to hear poppy teeny bopper music while I am dining. But that's just me. Especially at a place priding itself on their good beer selection. Aside from the negative atmosphere issues, our server was excellent. Our food was delicious. We had a great experience. I will be back.

I went here for lunch with a co-worker and we split an order of the the cheese croquets and pot roast fries. Both were fantastic! The service was excellent as well. We will definitely be back!

My wife and I have been there a few times and we like it. Haven't had the service problems that others have mentioned. The food was vood and the price was average. Good selection of beers including gluten free which my wife has to have due to allergies. The outside deck and live music is a nice touch. We like floyds a lot!

Will someone please put this place out of it's misery so a REAL restaurant can take it's place? Service is just plain BAD and the food is so so at best. There does not appear to be any Management in place which is a shame that lack of Leadership / Management is causing this to business to fail, and fail quickly.
